Serving

Here are ways you can serve others both within and outside our church. Some are organizations our people are involved with in the community. Other options are internal to CFC, allowing you to live out your membership vows to encourage and serve one another.

Bible Study Fellowship:

“Bible Study Fellowship is an international, interdenominational, multigenerational Bible study for men, women, young adults and children. Currently Valdosta hosts a Day Women’s Class that meets on Thursday morning from 9:15-11:05am at Northside Baptist Church. The website is www.bsfinternational.org. A local contact person for the study is Paige Krispin at paigekrispin@bellsouth.net."

Children’s Ministries At CFC Volunteers:

We try to provide resources for our parents and other interested adults to help in teaching our children and youth. Opportunities to teach exist on Sunday mornings in an age specific children’s church option, Wednesday night youth group, and child care services for adult activities. You can volunteer by letting our church secretary know, or our Elder in charge of Christian Education, Brad Keel. Background checks are required for all volunteers with children’s and youth ministries.

Kairos Prison Ministry Volunteers:  Kairos is an in-prison ministry to those who are incarcerated. It involves a number of team meetings to prepare and a full week-end of serving during designated hours. It is a way of following Jesus' command to visit and  minister to the prisoners. In our church several men have been involved in this ministry and we can put you in touch with them.

Options Now Volunteers: This is our communities local ministry to women in crisis pregnancy. It first of all presents the Gospel and then helps them see that the fetus growing within the is indeed a baby, encouraging them to save that precious life. All kinds of volunteer help is appreciated, from counseling to staffing their second hand store.

Small Group Host Homes Volunteers:

Relationships are enriched and strengthened, ministries birthed, and support found in small group ministries. If you would like to host a small group for study, support, or just fellowship please let us know.

Hungry At Home Support: Hungry at Home is a local nonprofit started in 2011 to ensure that no child in our community is hungry at home due to their economic or social circumstances. 69 bags of food were first sent home in 2011 and currently the need has grown to over 750 bags sent home each weekend. We serve four counties and six school systems. We depend on the generosity and support of our local churches, individuals and charitable organizations to provide monetary donations, food donations and volunteer hours. For additional information, please contact Teresa Parkerson at www.hungryathome.org, or tlparkerson@gmail.com, 229-292-7231, monetary donations may be sent to Hungry at Home, P.0. Box 694

Nursing Home Ministry:  The first week of each month you may want to tag along to four different nursing homes where we offer times of musical worship, prayer, and at times gifts of cookies or seasonal gifts. If interested contact Pastor Ken,  ken_webb@mac.com
